Unique recycled plastic earrings to match a unique native bird!
Did you know that Kākāpō hold records for all sorts of things:
- they are the only flightless parrot in the world,
- the heaviest parrot species in the world,
- potentially the longest-lived bird species in the world (they live up to 90 years!),
- the only NZ bird and only parrot known to 'lek breed' where males compete for females with displays and have no involvement in the upbringing of offspring.
These earrings are made from 3D printer waste and every feather is different! The plastic is sourced from Kiwifil, another NZ recycling company and is material they couldn't use. Every pair sold contributes $2 to Forest & Bird's conservation work – which helps protect our amazing wildlife and the wild places they call home.
Dimensions: feather 4cm x 1cm at widest point.
Hooks: Hypoallergenic (silver in colour), clip on option now available (silver in colour).
Made from PLA (3D printer waste) in Christchurch, NZ by Remix Plastic. We always ship plastic free.
Notes
Each feather is unique with its own colours (and blemishes) - they are fully functioning and we celebrate their uniqueness, as we hope you do! Please get in touch if you are not satisfied with your purchase and we will do what we can to resolve any issues in a timely manner.
