Expand your Huia Feather accessories with these recycled plastic pendants!
Made in the same way as our popular earrings, these are created with 3D printer waste.
The Huia is a NZ native bird with stunning, white-tipped feathers. In pre-European times only high-ranking chiefs and their whanau wore the tail feathers in their hair. By 1900 huia numbers were decreasing mainly due to habitat loss, but an international fashion craze for the feathers was started when one was gifted to the Duke of York in 1901 during a visit to NZ. The huia was then slowly pushed to extinction.
Our recycled plastic Huia Feather collection represents the impact that our fashion and consumption decisions can have on our environment.
Dimensions: feather 12cm x 2.7cm at widest point. Chain: 64cm with clasp.
